Galveston Ball High School won again with the 27 teams competing in a variety of events, which included the Tournament of Champions competition, Skills Champion, and 5 Ball teams, making the elimination playoff round.

Ball High’s 400D Kodiak Cox for Tournament Champion included Gabriel Pinto and Nasared Estrada, who defeated the Texas City teams to take to overall trophy.

The Tournament’s Skills winner were Ball’s 400B Alejandro Castro, Yeison Ramirez, and Aaron Irais Deras.

With only eight slots in the elimination alliance competition, five of Ball’s Team were represented. Ball’s teams won 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 8th Place. Other than 400D and 400B, the following were fighting for the trophy: 400A Christopher Ramos, and Waylin Wells; 400G Derby Thompson, Caroline Neblett, Hayden Reeves, and Dewayne.

Additionally, the Team 400E (Marshal Marks, Xander Wilson, and Jordan Vernon) was present but not competing because of already qualifying for Texas State Competition. They were there to assist the other Tors during the event with programming, Engineering, and Spirit.

Also, a Huge Award was presented to Ball’s Coach, Mr. Brian Massey, which received one of VEX”s Highest Honors. VEX is the main sponsor for robotics at the State, National, and World’s level. The Tournament Host Texas City “was honored to present Mr. Massey with VEX’s Volunteer of the Year Award.”
