We’ve all seen Tuffy Tor perform for the crowd at the football and basketball games, bringing laughter to the fans and encouraging school spirit. This year’s 2018-2019 Tuffy Tor is junior Jazzie Womack. Womack volunteered to be Tuffy this year, but unfortunately it will be her first and last year performing as the school mascot because of her busy schedule next year.
Womack is a spontaneous, kind, caring young woman … which were the perfect characteristics for someone representing Ball High. “I go to all the games. I also visit schools and read to kids and take pictures with them.”
Womack said being Tuffy was a tough act. “Oh my – yes! One, it is hard to breathe in (the costume); two, it’s stressful being in front of many people; three, the suit is too small so there’s not room to breathe.”
Her advice for the next Tuffy Tor: “It’s a whole other level of happiness! Kids love Tuffy, so go for it! Drink lots of water. In the end, it’ll be a love and hate relationship.”
