Saturday, February 23rd, nineteen students in the Ball High Choir competed in the UIL solo and ensemble competition. After training for over two months on their individual songs with the pianist and choir director, the students traveled to Angleton High School to test their skills in front of a professional judge and possibly qualify for state, which will be held in Austin, TX through June 1st to 3rd.

After a few anxiety-filled hours at Angleton, the students finally found out their scores from the choir director. Out of nineteen students, seven Tors made it to state! This means those competitors chose a song in the hardest category out of three and made the best score out of five. Last year, the choir took nine people to state, so they definitely followed up on their great track record. Make sure to wish them luck on their state-level competition!

The choir members who will compete at the state contest are: Madison Prince, Kason Collins, Marisol Gutierrez, Calvin Brown, Angelus Miles, Demetrius Calhoon, Jasmine Knight-Beaver
