The Ball High Boys of Summer (13-5-2, 7-2) hammered Galena Park 7-3 (7-6, 4-5) Tuesday as the varsity baseball team continues to chase the first place Santa Fe Indians (10-8-2, 8-1) in the District 22-5A race. The Tors own sole possession of second place in the district, one game ahead of third place Goose Creek.

Once again the Golden Tornados rallied in the game’s final innings to break a close game open and take home the win. Edgar Salinas and Spencer Addison led the Tor hit parade, each with a 3-4 game while Gabe Freeman slapped an RBI triple as one of his two hits for the night. Freeman knocked in two runs and scored twice for the Tors.

The Tors led 3-0 through five innings when Galena Park rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game. The Tors scored four runs in the top of the sixth to put the game away.

Ball High travels to Crosby Friday in another District 22 5A match-up. All the action can be can be heard on KTOR the Tornado.
