“Brother Williams exemplified servant-leadership with a passion for educating our youth. His honorable life was befitting on an Alpha Phi Alpha member,” said Hank Thierry, Chapter President of the Alpha Phi Alpha Galveston Alumni Chapter. “Honoring a worthy graduate of Ball High School with an annual scholarship on behalf of Brother Williams effectively assures his continued legacy,” Thierry said.

Sherman Elias, Alpha Phi Alpha member and Math Department Head at Ball High, serves as the Chair of the scholarship selection committee. Scholarship selection criteria includes an emphasis on students going to college to major in science, technology, engineering and math.
