The Golden Tors tennis team defeated Barbers Hill Thursday, Aug. 15, in a 10-9 battle to the death. This is the first time in more than six years that the Tors pounded Barbers Hill!

Coach Kim Legate expressed unbridled enthusiasm for her team. “Every player dug in and put it all out on the courts today! They’ve been preparing for this match, strengthening their ground strokes, improving foot work and executing strategic plays. I am unbelievably proud of them!”

The boys hammered Mont Belvieu without losing a game to finish 9-0 and put the Tors ahead by one match. No. 3 Girls single Jayden Turner won a clutch match of 8-6.

“I am really impressed by how quickly the team has become so cohesive this soon in the season. Every player is working together to grow and strengthen as a team.”
