On December 6th and 7th, the awarding winning Ball High Speech and Debate Team traveled to Alief Taylor High School to compete against 13 schools from all over Texas.

At this competition, ten students from Ball High entered to participate. Samhitha Kempaiah, Owen Earl, Summer Bentinck, Zoe Monacy, Pedro Martinez, Jasmine Crooks, Danitza Rojas, Benjamin (Sky) Denson, Mitchell Willis, and Brooklyn Whitney. All of these orators were prepared to win, in fact all were polished and ready for round one by the time they left the hotel.

For the Public Speaking categories, Kempaiah made it to the finals in Varsity Impromptu Speaking, ranking third overall, with Earl and Bentinck as the two other finalists in Impromptu from Ball High. In Novice Impromptu, Crooks and Martinez were two of the six finalists of the entire tournament. Martinez also made it to the finals in Original Oratory. In Varsity Domestic Extemporaneous, Earl was the only Ball High finalist.

For Interpretation events, Whitney, Denson, and Monacy were all finalists in Poetry Interp. Whitney won second overall, and Monacy third. These three competitors were also finalists in Prose Interpretation, Whitney winning third and Denson winning second.

At Alief Taylor High School, Ball High brought home five trophies in total. Teammates were applauding each other and cheering on themselves for doing the best they could, whether they won an award or not. Ball High owned the tournament with half of the entries in several categories of competition, and once again became champions of another Speech and Debate Tournament.
