The Ball High Homecoming game found the Tor offense stymied by the Terry defense, while the Tor defense once again rose to the occasion and held Houston Terry to 14 points, usually few enough points to win the game.

The Tors (3-5, 0-5) let victory slip through their fingers in the rain and wind and mud of Kermit Courville Stadium when they failed to score twice when the team had the ball inside the 35-yard line in the fourth quarter.

“We weren’t making plays. We’d throw it down in there, we just didn’t play a make a play,” Tors Head Coach Kimble Anders said. “That’s what the game is all about.”

The homecoming game represents Terry’s one and only district win (2-6, 1-5). “This season we were hit by the injury bug extremely early, so it’s been an uphill battle,” Cornelius said. “Nobody likes playing at The Rock. It’s a hard place to win.

Ball High had three chances inside the 35-yard line in the fourth quarter, but managed to score only once.

Next Friday, Ball High will go against Angleton before the Tors’ final game, Senior Night, against district rival Texas City in the second addition of this year’s Clash of the Causeway!
